Useful answers

Everything you need to know.

Open only the question you need. Product and policy details stay aligned with how KeenOut actually works.

01Who is KeenOut for?

People who want to make friends, expand a social circle, meet other newcomers, find activity buddies or meet someone naturally without a swipe deck. You can use Google or a verified email and password; both lead to one KeenOut profile.

02What does first meetup free mean?

While the launch offer is active, one eligible confirmed KeenOut is A$0 per genuine member/account. Viewing, joining a pool or waitlisting does not use it. Future confirmed meetups are A$5 per person. No subscription.

03Can I log out or delete my account?

Yes. Log out and Delete account are available under Profile → Account. Logout ends the current session. Deletion is a separate confirmed action and removes or anonymises your profile. Active plans, payments, refunds, organiser responsibilities or safety reviews must be resolved first. Minimum financial, safety, attendance and pseudonymous one-time promotion records may be retained where required; deleting and recreating an account does not reset promotional use.

04Why might KeenOut ask for extra verification?

Limited, explainable anti-abuse checks protect the introductory offer. Most members see no extra step. Where needed, we use neutral verification or allow the standard A$5 price; we do not display internal risk scores or treat a shared network as proof of misuse.

05What if a good group does not form?

You are not charged and the free entitlement is not consumed. We show a truthful matching state and wait for a better group, even near the deadline.

06Can I bring a friend?

Yes. You stay together, but eligibility and payment are calculated per person. Two eligible new members pay A$0 total; one returning and one new member pay A$5 total; two returning members pay A$10 total. Repeated or circular invitation misuse may affect promotional eligibility without blocking legitimate invitations.

07What happens if someone cancels?

KeenOut automatically seeks the best compatible waitlist replacement without lowering group quality. KeenOut-caused cancellations restore an applicable free entitlement or trigger the configured paid refund or credit. Late cancellations and no-shows normally leave the offer consumed and may add future confirmation checks.

08How do coupons work?

Enter a code on an eligible confirmation. Coupons are validated server-side and may have activation, expiry, location, experience and redemption limits. Unless explicitly stated, a coupon changes only the KeenOut fee; food, drinks and other third-party costs remain payable.

09Can I sign in without Google?

Yes. You can use a verified email and password, including secure password reset, or continue with Google. Both methods use the same KeenOut profile. If both providers independently verify the same email and there is one clear account, KeenOut connects them automatically. Any unusual or conflicting case still requires secure connection from Profile → Account → Sign-in methods.

10Why does KeenOut ask for my date of birth?

KeenOut is for adults and uses your derived age as one of several private signals for comfortable small groups. We generally prefer reasonably similar ages without rigid cut-offs when the pool is small. Your full date of birth and private matching score are not shown to members or Community Event organisers.

11Does KeenOut use gender for matching?

Yes. You choose Female or Male once during onboarding. KeenOut may use it as a private, soft balance signal for matched groups, without quotas or hard gender exclusions. KeenOut never infers gender, and neither members nor Community Event organisers see this answer.

12What is a KeenOut Pass?

A KeenOut Pass is an optional prepaid bundle of confirmation credits, not a subscription. If passes are on sale, you can buy one from Profile → Payments. A credit applies only to KeenOut’s confirmation fee; venue, food, drink, ticket and activity costs stay separate. Community Events never consume pass credits.

13Why do I need to confirm again on the day?

A short same-day check gives the group a current attendance signal. Tap ‘Yes, I’m coming’ or cancel in one step before the shown deadline. Reliable members can receive configured grace for a missed notification; one missed prompt does not automatically mean punishment.

14What are last-minute spots?

You can opt into free standby notifications for compatible openings based on time, area and activity. Offers have a short, clearly shown response window. Accepting still follows your normal first-free, coupon or A$5 confirmation eligibility, and KeenOut never lowers group quality merely to fill a place.

15What is the difference between a KeenOut Experience and a Community Event?

KeenOut Experiences are small groups formed and coordinated by KeenOut, with matching, confirmations and the applicable first-free or A$5 coordination price. Community Events are independent public events from organisers. They do not use the six-person matcher and free RSVPs never attract the KeenOut Experience fee.
